Our story

A couple of years ago, two piano teachers noticed a recurring challenge at their academy. Pianists of all skills levels, from beginner to expert, would come to lessons with their standard folders and find the glare from the sleeves annoying, or find it difficult to take notes on sheets (having had to take the sheet music out of the sleeve first to do so). They would complain that the folder didn’t lay flat or made it difficult to flip between pages. And the beginners specifically, found it difficult to read notes, and didn't know of any dedicated resources specifically designed for pianists.

So, we got to work. We designed a folder specifically for pianists (now our best selling product) - one that allowed convenient note-taking, made it easy to stay organised, and importantly, made piano playing look good. The results were immediate. Our students were more focused, better prepared, and practicing became a smoother process. Then, we made a website out of it - a dedicated resource specifically for pianists, of all skills levels.

When it came time to name the store, we thought of our mum, Gloria. She’s the one who sparked our love for piano and supported us through every lesson, recital, and exam.

And so, Piano Glory was born in 2023, with a simple mission: to make practice easier and more enjoyable for pianists through high quality products and resources.

We’ve both been playing piano for over 18 years, passed all 8 AMEB (Australian Music Examination Board) piano grades by 16, and co-founded the International Academy of Music in Sydney in 2018, where we still teach. Steve, who also runs the YouTube channel @UniversalPiano, has the ability of absolute pitch—the ability to identify the name of any note instantly just by hearing it.

Please don't hesitate to reach out at anytime at hello@pianoglory.com.au to chat anything piano-related!

Thank you for taking the time to visit us. We hope you benefit from our products as much as we enjoyed designing them.
